According to Document No.6014/A72-P2 dated June 6, 2015 by Vietnam Department Immigration, nationalities in unilateral visa exemption list are eligible to extend their stay beyond 15 days while they are in Vietnam for on-going travel.

The police and relevant agencies have been instructed to apply this new law for unilateral visa-exempted tourists, provided that foreigners hold a valid return ticket and they are guaranteed by a legit tourism agency at least 3 days before their expiry date of stay.

Currently Vietnamese Government’s visa waiver policy allows nationals of 13 countries to enter Vietnam without a visa for 15-day period including Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Japan, Russia, South Korea, Belarus, United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Germany, France. However, if these nationals would like to have another 15-day period of visa-free entry, they have to wait for at least 30 days before the next visit.
