How to get Vietnam Visa for Chinese Passport Holders?

Chinese Passport Holders are required to apply for visa to enter Vietnam. Like most of other countries, there are 2 ways to get Vietnam visa for Chinese citizens: either get Vietnam visa directly at Vietnam Embassy in China or apply for visa on arrival through an online booking travel agent.

Option 1: Getting Vietnam visa at Vietnam Embassy/Consulate in China

This seems to be the most classic way to obtain Vietnam visa before leaving for Vietnam. The regular time will take 7-10 working days. The paperwork includes your original passport, 2 passport-sized photos, stamping fee ranging from USD 80 or even doubled for urgent cases.

Option 2: (Recommended) Applying for visa on arrival through an online booking travel agent

Visa on arrival is no longer a strange term for those who often travel to foreign countries these days.  This is considered as the easiest and cheapest way to obtain visa to Vietnam. The only thing you must consider about this type of visa is means of transport since visa on arrival works well for air travel only.

Can all Chinese passport holders apply for visa on arrival?

The answer is “Yes or No”. Sounds strange? But this regulation is quite unique to Chinese passport holders who fly from China mainland. The reason comes from the fact that Chinese Immigration Officers at some local airports in China deny to realize visa approval letter as an official document to pass through the customs. Therefore, if you are Chinese passport holders who fly from China mainland to Vietnam, you need to check if the airport you depart from accepts Vietnam visa approval letter.

Then how can Chinese passport holders apply for Vietnam visa on arrival?

If Chinese citizens arrive from an international airport of a third country such as Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, etc., which is not China mainland, they completely can apply for Vietnam visa on arrival. In this case, what you need to do is to fill out an online application form. After getting your payment for service fee, we will start to process the application and you can get a visa approval letter via email within 2 working days as regular processing time or even 4-8 working hours in urgent case. After that you just need to print out this letter and bring it along with your valid passport + 2 passport sized photos + some dollars as stamping fee to pick up the visa sticker at one of Vietnam’s international airports ( Noi Bai, Da Nang, Cam Ranh, Tan San Nhat)
